My Favorite Artists Right Now

My favorite rapper right now— that’s hard to say, but these are a few of the rappers that I’m currently listening to.

“Drake”

The 6 God himself has always been one of my favorite rappers in the game, period. From his style and flow, to his ability to surprise me whenever he releases something new. Drake has a special place in my phone, and I listen to him whenever I know that Drake should be the only one in my ears… if that makes sense.

“Schoolboy Q”

Schoolboy Q, lately, has really been at the top of my list for favorite rappers. Even though he hasn’t put out an album in about a year I still indulge in his previous work. It’s great music to either sit and relax to, or to simply work out to. (I work out to Collard Greens all of the time). However, no matter what the occasion, lately I’ve been in the mood for Schoolboy at anytime of day.

“Kendrick Lamar”

I hopped off the Kendrick train a while ago, but ever since he performed “Untitled 2” on Jimmy Kimmel, I had to hop back on. He’s one of the most talented rappers alive, maybe even the most talented. Everything about him is amazing, his story, his music, his… everything. “untitled 2” was nothing but superb. With a jazzy feel and fantastically written lyrics, Kendrick blew my mind and ears. Honestly, Kendrick Lamar’s music is just perfect for when I’m trying to write. Often times I draw inspiration from his jazzy beats and poetic lyrics.

“Boosie Badazz”

Ever since “On that Level” released, I’ve considered myself a basement Boosie Badazz fan. He’s put out some work that I really disliked, but his latest release “In My Feelings” hit my feels. With his announcement of having cancer, this whole album is basically a memoir of how he found out and what he’s going to miss if he passed. “Cancer” is actually a pretty good song and whenever I’m just lounging around this is sure to come up on shuffle.

There’s a lot of music that I listen to, but lately these few artists have really been hitting the spot. It’s always great to incorporate a mix of different artists or even different genres in your playlist. Make sure to comment below who or what you’ve been listening to.
